Annual Sports Report (2017 – 18)
It’s a pleasant morning and I am here to present before you the Annual Sports Report of Santoshi English Medium School for the session 2017 – 18. Prior to that, I would like to convey my cordial thanks to the esteemed guests, Sri Sarat Chandra Nanda, Present DSO of Puri, Sri Rabindranath Senapati, former DSO of Puri & the vice president of our school managing body; Sri Surendranath Dash, Ex-chairman, Puri Municipality and president of our school managing body; for their kind presence here to grace today’s auspicious morning and encourage the students. I also welcome the parents and guardians here to witness the opening of Annual Sports Meet of Santoshi English Medium School for the session 2017 – 18.
Since the year of establishment, our students have been participating in various district level, state level, and national level sporting events and have fetched many accolades, sports scholarships and brought laurel to my school. Besides this, Santoshi English Medium School had also conducted smoothly the events of the District Judo Championship in this playground.
To mention about the achievements of this year, Miss Sunita Majhi of class VIII got cash awards and many prizes in various athletic events and in Gymnastics. Miss Preeti Reddy of class VII also got significant success in Gymnastics. Master Ayusman Pradhan of class X, for his performance in Judo got the award of Best Judoka during the district Judo Championship. Miss Priyanka Pattanaik of class VIII is a raising chess player of our school who has received cash awards and got many prizes in various district and state level chess competitions of this year. I congratulate all my students who performed well in the district, state and national level sports events of this year and wish that the thrills of excitement and true sportsmanship will lead my students to get greater levels of achievements in the coming years.
During this session in the school, the inter house cricket for boys and inter house kho-kho for girls were conducted. Indoor game events like chess, carom and arm wrestling for different groups were also conducted. Today and tomorrow the various events like running race, math race, frog race, ladoo race, bucket ball, shot put, long jump, discus throw, javelin throw, relay race, will be conducted for different groups. I hope all my students will participate with zeal and a commitment to obey the rules and regulations of sports.
The dedication of our staff, the cooperation of the well wishers and the blessings of the almighty has enabled us to nurture the hidden talents of our students. As sky is the limit, I ask my students to keep on working for the fame of sports not only in the school or state but also in the national and international level. With these hopeful words I end my report.
